Install the Cybereason Mobile Sensor
After Technical Support deploys the Cybereason Mobile infrastructure and configures the necessary settings and enables your MDM integration, you must install a Cybereason Mobile sensor on each connected device and activate the sensor and profile on the device.
This topic describes the different installation methods for the sensor.
Note
The Cybereason mobile sensor is installed as the Jamf Trust application.
You install the Mobile sensor in one of the following ways:
Mandatory activation through your UEM/MDM platform
Shareable links (if you do not use a UEM/MDM platform)
The installation instructions differ depending on whether the device is a supervised device or an unsupervised devices
Installation options:
Supervised iOS device installation from UEM/MDM activation
When your UEM/MDM platform sends the activation request, the network component and Jamf Trust app install automatically.
Tap on the Jamf Trust app to finish the activation.
Allow location permissions while using the app.
The app activation finishes and displays the Jamf Trust app home screen. Your app is activated and your device is protected.
Unsupervised iOS device installation from UEM/MDM activation
When your UEM/MDM platform sends the activation request, you (the device user) will see a VPN icon which indicates that the network component is installed.
Tap the prompt from your UEM or MDM platform to finish the activation.
Accept the prompt to allow notifications.
Set location preferences to Always On.
The app activation finishes and displays the Jamf Trust app home screen. Your app is activated and your device is protected.
iOS device installation without MDM
Note
You use this method only when deploying the Cybereason Mobile sensor without an MDM platform.
In the email or SMS message you (the device user) receive from your administrator, click the link.
In the browser window that opens, click Open.
From the App Store, install the Jamf Trust app.
After the installation completes, open the Jamf Trust app.
When the Jamf Trust app opens, allow location permissions by selecting Allow While Using App.
Allow Jamf Trust to add VPN Configurations.
Install the Jamf Trust VPN.
Enter your passcode to confirm the VPN installation.
The app activation finishes and displays the Jamf Trust app home screen. Your app is activated and your device is protected.
Managed Android device installation from UEM/MDM activation
When your UEM/MDM platform sends the activation request, the network component and Jamf Trust app install automatically.
Open the Jamf Trust app.
In the following screen, click Activate to activate device admin permissions.
In the next screen for Samsung devices only, confirm the Samsung Knox privacy policy.
The app activation finishes and displays the Jamf Trust app home screen. Your app is activated and your device is protected.
